Allergies occur when the body reacts to a substance that should be harmless — something as simple as pollen, food, dust, or even environmental chemicals. While these substances may not affect others, your immune system may mistakenly identify them as threats and launch a defensive response. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this reaction is understood as a disruption in the flow of energy (Qi) through the meridians. When that flow becomes blocked, the body becomes more reactive, and symptoms begin to appear.

Allergies can show up in obvious ways — runny nose, itchy eyes, sneezing, rashes — but they can also manifest as deeper, less recognized patterns such as sinusitis, bronchitis, asthma, arthritis, chronic pain, fatigue, insomnia, depression, cravings, or attention difficulties. Sensitivities may arise from foods, environmental toxins, medications, infectious agents, or even emotional stress.
Some allergies are inherited, while others develop over time due to chemical exposure, major illnesses, nutritional deficiencies, emotional strain, or chronic stress. No matter the cause, the goal of allergy elimination is to help the body return to a state of balance so it no longer reacts to these triggers.
Our Approach to Allergy Elimination
At The Center for the Healing Arts, we use a variety of gentle, non‑invasive techniques to help the body release allergic responses.
Our practitioners are trained in several highly effective modalities, including:
NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique)
BioSet
NMT (NeuroModulation Technique)
NET (Neuro Emotional Technique)
Each of these systems blends principles from kinesiology, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and Oriental Medicine. Your practitioner will determine which method best suits your needs based on your symptoms, sensitivities, and overall health.
These techniques work by “reprogramming” the body’s response to allergens, helping the nervous system recognize that the substance is no longer a threat. When major allergies are cleared and the immune system is strengthened, the body can return to its natural state of healing and homeostasis.
Understanding Energy Fields and Muscle Response Testing
Every substance — living or non‑living — has its own energetic signature. When two energy fields are incompatible, the body may experience blockages or repulsion, which can weaken muscle strength and disrupt the flow of Qi.

Muscle Response Testing (MRT), also known as kinesiology, helps identify which substances create these energetic blockages. When a suspected allergen is placed in the patient’s hand, the body’s response can be measured through subtle changes in muscle strength. This allows the practitioner to communicate with the body’s energetic system and pinpoint the substances causing stress.
For young children, babies, or individuals who are weak or injured, testing can be done through a surrogate — a safe and effective method commonly used in holistic practices.
What to Expect During Treatment
Your first visit includes a thorough health history and kinesiology‑based allergy testing. Once allergens are identified and prioritized, treatment begins using a combination of acupressure and acupuncture to retrain the body’s response.

During the session, specific acupuncture points along the spine are stimulated while the patient holds the allergen. This process clears the energetic blockage and signals the brain that the substance is now safe. Many allergens clear in a single session, while others may require multiple treatments or combinations of related allergens.
Once the clearing process is complete, the allergy is considered eliminated from the body’s energetic memory.
